Borrowing power is based on savings, currently the ratio of 5x times your savings is what you can apply to borrow, eg., £1000.00 saved will let you borrow £5000.00.

Remember if you take out a loan savings is held as guarantee while repayments are made. If you just have savings, you have instant access to you savings.
