Annual Dividend

The Harp and Crown Credit Union is a non-profit making organisation, with an annual audit carried out to determine the dividend (interest) payable to its members.

  • The Credit Union returns all profits (after running costs) to its members.

  • The dividend (interest rate) is declared at the AGM approximately each December.

  • In line with rule 34.5 dividends will only be paid to those in membership of the credit union on the date the dividend is declared.

  • The dividend is based on the member’s average monthly balance over the course of one financial year (1st October – 30th September).

For the financial year October 2022- September 2023 we paid out 2% on savings (DOUBLE the rate from the previous year and the highest rate in 6 years). We also paid a loan interest rebate to borrowers, where applicable, based on the October 2022- September 2023 accrued rates.

Why choose a credit union?

Remember there are many benefits of joining a credit union, compared to a bank.  Our members can avail of lower interest rate loans, 5 x times their savings, subject to terms and conditions.
